St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This is one of my favorite days of the year. My mom always made sure this was a very special day in our family and I've always loved celebrating it. I'm trying to keep up the tradition so Caden will always appreciate his 25% Irish heritage and love this holiday as much as I do!

We started this day by cracking open many of the windows. Caden LOVES the fresh air. He's recently figured out how to climb onto his window seat and now that the winter plastic coverings are off we can open his blinds again. He's been pretty thrilled to suddenly realize he has a huge window in his room he can look out of! Opening the window and getting a breeze just makes it all the better. He was so happy sitting in his window this morning it took quite a lot of coaxing to get him to leave!

Moms club hosted a Leprechaun Hunt at a nearby park this morning and we decided to join the fun. Caden immediately headed for the swings and was very happy to stay there the entire morning. He had no interest in doing anything else. Eventually I convinced him we should at least to check out the play equipment. While we were walking over an elderly lady showed up with a toddler and a dachshund. Caden was immediately fascinated by the dog and charged over there. He then proceeded to basically stalk this lady and her grandson around the park for the next fifteen minutes. It was so funny because she would keep stopping so Caden could pet the dog. But instead of petting him, he'd just plop down on the ground like he expected the dog to climb in his lap. The dog was not interested. Overall it was a fun morning hanging out with other moms and kids in a different park.

We went out in the yard again this afternoon when the temperature hit around 60 degrees. Caden immediately sensed when Crea and her daycare kids came outside and he headed right over. We spent a long time over there riding bikes and going down the slide. Caden is always extremely quiet when we're there, but you can tell he's just fascinated by other children. Hopefully after a few weeks of visiting he'll finally start acting like himself!

We stayed at Crea's until Greg came home. It's always a joy to see Caden's reaction when he first sees daddy. Today the second he saw him Caden started jumping, clapping, yelling "yaayy!!" and running as fast as he could to Greg. It was so sweet. It's obvious Caden adores his daddy!

We then went home for our traditional St. Patrick's Day family photo shoot and dinner. It was a simple, but wonderful day.

Just for fun, here's our photo from last year...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
